Please Speak about Hyperactive Kids
I listened to the program about the role of a father minister. Thank you for this open talk on such an important subject. Please, Natalia, I am asking you, as a psychologist, to talk also about hyperactive children in your program “With Love into the Future” or on “Candid Talk.” Listeners think this kind of program is necessary. Ihad a hyperactive son and I understand how difficult it is to raise such children. There was another child like that in our church. His mom put so much zeal into raising him but shed many tears. People did not understand her and they were constantly making remarks about his behavior. Yet nothing can be changed. I read Dr. Dobson, about the need of having patience to wait until his restless character quiets down with age. Physical punishments do not help those children. I know that by experience with my own son. At the age of 13 he changed, became more acceptable and assiduous, and began to do better in school. I would love to hear advice from psychologists on how to raise children like that to help parents and also to help people in church understand hyperactivity.
