She longs for someone to confide in, to share her secrets with, to ask the questions that trouble her days and haunt her nights.

But there is no one. The adults in Muna’s life refuse to openly discuss her questions. She falls into drug and alcohol abuse, satanic practices, and bad relationships. Finally, in quiet desperation, Muna writes an email to TWR through the website for a youth radio program called Ala’s Diary. The program provides an open and honest opportunity for youth to get real answers to the difficult questions in life.

TWR’s correspondence team writes back to Muna, encouraging her and giving her the guidance to get her life back on track. Today, young people such as Muna are faced with greater and more difficult challenges than ever before. They need someone to understand them a friend with whom they can speak openly about their worries.

Ala’s Diary is just one example of a program that TWR uses to reach out to people in the Middle East. Other projects include producing an oral Bible for non-literates in the Arabic language.
