The Southern Europe region is composed of five countries: France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, and Greece. With the exception of Greece, all of these countries speak Latin-based languages. Today, these languages are spoken by over 900 million people worldwide. The religious practice within these countries is predominantly Roman Catholicism. As with northwestern Europe, though the 16th century Reformation took place in southern Europe, it did not leave a strong impact in the region. Rather, the counter-reformation movement significantly hindered the expansion of the Protestant Reformation in southern Europe.
TWR currently airs programs in all five countries of the Southern Europe region through its National Partners on local FM radio stations, as well as on a growing number of web radio stations.
