Overwhelmed By Joy In Russia

“Then, when I am with you again, it is like feasting!”

13 August 2012
– This month’s Our Story comes from an elderly woman in Russia that is overwhelmed by the grace of God, and it joyfully overflows in the words of this response. May the reading of this encourage and challenge each of us. We serve a generous and loving God!

According to my age, I belong to the "going" generation, yet I am a very young listener of your programs, which I happened to find recently. I am very grateful to the Lord for making me acquainted with these programs, and I follow them in awe for fear of missing out on something. But because of my health condition, I cannot listen all the time. My high blood pressure sometimes robs me of this joy. Then, when I am with you again, it is like feasting! I cannot put into words the joy of my soul.

“this was God’s providence—
and nothing else”

I have only recently obtained a radio receiver. It was given to me as a gift by a young man who visited us when my mom was sick. He came in one day with the receiver and a stack of cassettes and suggested that I should listen to them. To- day he is in Moscow, going to The Holy Trinity-St. Sergius Lavra monastery. He still visits us on vacation days. I am so thankful for this boy.

“The Lord Himself
has given me this gift”

Most likely, this was God’s providence—and nothing else—for this ‘talking box’ to land in my home. I would have never known that I could hear radio programs with it. I thought I could only play tape cassettes on it. But now I have come to know you! How was that? I am not sure. Sometimes I ask that myself and then I realize each time that it can be only by the All-Merciful One. The Lord Himself has given me this gift, and I now enjoy His kindness.

I would love to have the text of the program from June 20th to give away to whomever the Lord leads. Everything is very touching—the text and the songs. Everything is very important and serious. Truly, a very big treasure!

The TWR RUBM department focuses on Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. Furthermore, TWR has local partners organizations in each of these countries. For a brief period in the past, TWR was allowed to broadcast within the countries on local radio networks, but this is currently only possible in the Ukraine. The programs for Russia and Belarus come exclusively from abroad.
