UK Man's Life-Altering Experience
"I could feel a supernatural presence, both kind and loving, that I had never felt before." 22 June 2012 - This month's Our Story comes from a grateful man that was dramatically converted through TWR programming. I was born in 1952 in the UK. Growing up, nobody in my family went to church regularly. I was sent to Sunday school for a few years, but I didn’t like it. Somehow, though, I still believed there was a God. "...an inner voice said to me, At the age of 16, I had a very dynamic experience with God. There was a program on the television that I wanted to watch. Before the program started, I decided to turn on the radio and perhaps find some music. Instead, I came across Trans World Radio (TWR), which was broadcasting ‘The Hour of Decision’ by Billy Graham. Just as I was about to turn my radio dial further, an inner voice said to me, “Isn’t this worth listening to?” I answered “yes” and, believe it or not, I couldn’t turn my radio dial any further. While I was listening to my radio, I could feel a supernatural presence, both kind and loving, that I had never felt before. I listened with interest to what Billy Graham had to say, but I made no commitment to Christ that day. Despite my questions and doubts, I tuned in during the next few weeks. Dr. Graham said the words, “God wants you to put your trust in His Son.” When I heard that, I committed my heart and life to Jesus Christ. "I suddenly felt clean inside and without fear." From that moment on, I suddenly felt clean inside and without fear. It seemed like a heavy load of guilt had been lifted, that I didn’t even know I was carrying. For the next two years, I still didn’t attend any church because I did not realize the importance of fellowship. However, upon being encouraged by TWR to do so, the Lord convicted me in 1970 to start going to church. I can tell you now that my heart is full of gratitude for Ralph and Paul Freed and TWR. Ultimately, it was the Lord using your ministry. This is proof that Christian radio is winning the lost and that the effects of this ministry last; I am still following Him over forty years later. get to know twr uk:TWR UK was founded in 1963 in Altrincham. Throughout the United Kingdom, TWR UK broadcasts quality, speech-led Christian radio presenting news, current affairs and Bible teaching. Internet radio programs are also offered on their website at www.twr.org.uk. TWR UK currently has five staff members as well as four presenters.
