Roma ministry in Macedonia
When we open our New Testaments we can find the words Macedonia or Macedonian in 23 places. In the year 2010 the Catholic Church around the word is celebrating the 100th birthday of Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. Does this name mean anything to you? Maybe not, but if we say that this is the birth name of Mother Teresa who was born in an ethnic Albanian family in 1910 in the capital of the Republic of Macedonia, Skopje, it will probably mean something to you.
Even though TWR does not have any more programs and web site in the Macedonian language (previously it was produced by Ikonos), TWR Ministry is present in this country. Since the beginning of 2009 TWR has radio-programs in the Roma dialect spoken by Roma people in the Macedonian town of Prilep.
Every Monday evening from 8 to 9 PM Roma people from the Prilep area can listen on the Roma radio station “Ternipe” to the one hour program The Voice of Truth with Bible messages and Christian music. This ministry is even more important when we have in mind that most Roma people do not have a Christian background. If you would like to learn more about this program please read InfoSERV – summer 2009 edition, or click here.
